Statement from Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, chair of the Senate Early Learning, K-12 & Higher
Education Committee
Re: WASL scores
“I want to congratulate those students
who have passed all three WASL sections, and are moving on
to the remaining high school graduation requirements.
“For those students still working to
pass all or part of the WASL, I want to assure them that we
are supporting them as they continue their efforts. Students
will have access to extra learning opportunities, and soon
will be able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in
multiple ways.
“We know we have more work to do,
particularly in math. The Legislature is dedicated to
helping every student in the state find academic
success, and we will do whatever it takes to reach that
goal.”
