Seattle PI Letter to the Editor
In “Oceans: Beyond a D-plus,” (Feb. 8), this discouraging
assessment was charged to national efforts to keep our ocean
resources vital. The piece correctly chastised the president and
Congress for failing to deliver on the promise of reform efforts.
While you make the point that such work fares better in the House of
Representatives, we in Washington aren’t biding our time.

Oversize vehicles, undersize fines no more
OLYMPIA – They’re big, slow and take up more than one lane

moved during rush hours. So he’s introduced
Substitute Senate Bill 6398, which would give the state’s
Transportation Commission authority to increase the fine for driving
an oversize vehicle without a permit or driving outside of the hours
specified in the permit.
