Historic water storage measure passes Senate
unanimously
OLYMPIA – A decades-long hang-up over water rights for the
Columbia River and its tributaries has finally ended.
“This is truly an historic day – 30 years in the making,” said
Senate Water, Energy & Environment Committee Chair Erik Poulsen,
D-West Seattle. “When this bill is signed into law we will have
a much-needed, new water supply for people and fish.”
