Lawmakers ‘get air’ with expanded ORV terrain
use and liability protection
OLYMPIA – This year, off-road vehicle (ORV) riders banded
together to ask for the Legislature’s help in tackling the ‘rider
squeeze,’ the dwindling number of available spaces to enjoy this
rapidly growing sport. Although ORV and all-terrain vehicle sales
are at an all-time high, many local riding parks have closed due to
safety, noise and liability concerns.

Sheldon helps emergency volunteers
respond to call of duty
OLYMPIA – In many communities, volunteer workers
provide a life-line to victims and helping hand to first
responders in emergency situations. However, some emergency
volunteers are frustrated by the lack of employer support
when asked to report to duty.
