Franklin earns perfect score for votes
on children’s and families legislation
OLYMPIA – For her steadfast support of legislation
to help Washington’s children and families, Sen. Rosa
Franklin, D-Tacoma, was recently awarded five stars, or
a “perfect” ranking, from the Children’s Alliance.
“I’m very proud of my voting record on issues affecting
our children,” Franklin said. “Making our communities better
places for our families through a great education system,
and high-quality health care and social services, has been
my top priority as a legislator.”
The scorecard is intended to inform advocates for
children and the public about the voting record of state
legislators on issues affecting children and families. It is
based on votes taken on 13 key bills, including health
coverage of all children (Senate
Bill 5093); family leave (SB
5659); and
SB 5828 (Early Learning Advisory Council).
The Children’s Alliance, a statewide advocacy
organization, champions public policies that deliver the
essentials children need to thrive — confidence, stability,
health and safety.
