Franklin to hold town hall meeting
OLYMPIA – Sen. Rosa Franklin, D-Tacoma,
will host a town hall meeting to discuss health care,
education and other critical issues considered during the
recently concluded 2007 legislative session.
The meetings will give residents of the 29th Legislative
District an opportunity to comment on and ask questions
about the state budget, transportation, election issues,
affordable housing and other matters of interest.
“It was an uncommonly productive session,” Franklin said.
“We brought health care to more children and adults. We
boosted education funding to help all our children succeed
in school. And we passed fiscally responsible budgets that
salt away money for a rainy day.”
The town hall is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday,
June 28, at the Korean Women’s Association Community
Services Center, 123 E. 96th St., Tacoma. It is free and
open to the public.
Democratic Reps.
Steve Conway and
Steve Kirby have been invited to join Franklin at
the town hall.
