Olympia from the inside out

OLYMPIA – Ever wonder what really goes on inside the marble hallways of Olympia? Sen. Steve Hobbs, D-Lake Stevens, has begun sharing his observations of the 2007 legislative session with frequent Web log — or “blog” — entries on his Senate home page.

“There’s an incredible amount of activity taking place every day, much more than people would realize,” Hobbs said. “A legislative blog is an easy way for citizens in the 44th Legislative District to stay involved in state policy.”

With several high-profile bills this session, Hobbs will have plenty to write about throughout the session. He is sponsoring legislation that would prohibit employers from routinely doing credit checks on job applicants in addition to several measures affecting veterans and active military personnel and their families.

“There’s never a dull moment around this place,” Hobbs said. “I encourage people to check the blog regularly for updates.”
