The week of Jan. 21 to 27
In the spotlight this week: A family doctor every family
can afford
Securing your health and the health of your family
shouldn’t make your checkbook sick. But with costs rising at
three times the rate of inflation, health care is the single
largest contributor to the economic anxiety widespread among
Washington citizens. Many families feel that they are one
medical problem away from bankruptcy. A lack of a universal
system puts us all at risk, makes us all insecure.
Senate Democrats will act because Congress hasn’t. Even
though this is a short session, we want to begin discussion
on how to establish health care for all, because the people
of Washington just can’t wait much longer.
