Franklin to hold town hall meetings
OLYMPIA
— Sen. Rosa Franklin, D-Tacoma and
Rep. Steve Conway, D-Tacoma will host two town hall
meetings to discuss a host of important issues facing
residents of the 29th Legislative District.
The first town hall meeting will be from 10:00 a.m. to
noon on January 12th at Bates South Campus - Cafeteria, 2201
S. 78th St., Tacoma. This meeting will focus solely on
property tax reform.
Tax equity and fairness are key components of tax reform.
While property tax dollars pay for essential services such
as fire protection and public education, many believe the
system is outdated and unfair. Sen. Franklin would like to
hear your ideas on how the current system can be improved.
The second meeting will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon on
February 2nd at the Franklin Pierce School District Office
Building Board Room 315, 129th Street S., in Parkland.
Residents are encouraged to attend and ask questions about
health care, workers rights, economic development, education
funding, mortgage lending and other topics.
