Haugen
named “Business Champion” by Chambers of Commerce
OLYMPIA —The Joint Governmental Affairs Committee
of the Joint Snohomish County Chambers of Commerce has
presented Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, D-Camano Island,
with a 2008 Business Champion Award in recognition of her
sponsorship and support of legislation to improve the
business climate of Washington and Snohomish County.
“Washington businesses need to know that we’re doing
everything we can to help them grow our economy,” said
Haugen, who supported bills to reduce the tax and regulatory
burdens on businesses, including an increase in the small
business credit for the business and occupation tax.
The award was presented at the Joint Snohomish County
Chambers “Legislative Recognition Breakfast” held at the
Everett Golf & Country Club, where local business leaders
gathered for the Snohomish County Business Forum & 2008
Business Champion Awards.
“The Joint Government Affairs Committee of the Everett Area,
South Snohomish County and Monroe Chamber of Commerce is
pleased to present Senator Haugen with a 2008 Business
Champion Award,” said Louise Stanton-Masten, President & CEO
of the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce. “Senator Haugen
continues to be an advocate of local business issues that
concern Snohomish County and we are pleased to recognize her
efforts.”
