Senate education chair McAuliffe named
to education foundation board
OLYMPIA
– Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, D-Bothell, has been named
to serve on the board of a group that provides students with
supportive educational programs and numerous activities in
Snohomish County.
“I’m looking forward to joining the Snohomish Education
Foundation and helping to provide more opportunity for our
students around Snohomish County,” said McAuliffe, it’s a
group that really makes a difference for kids in our area.”
The foundation was founded in 1986 to provide broader
educational opportunities for students and teachers in the
Snohomish School District. Led by a volunteer board, the
foundation develops private donations to build their
programs.
“We’re delighted to welcome Sen. McAuliffe to our board
of trustees for the Snohomish Education Foundation. She
understands – with 11 grandchildren in Snohomish public
schools – that a basic education is not enough, and she is
committed to helping us give every child a margin of
excellence in their education,” said the board’s vice
president Janet Kusler.
