$856,000 for enhancing salmon habitats and flood prevention measures
|

West Hylebos wetlands boardwalk
$100,000 to purchase the Spring Valley Ranch property in south King County for $1.75 million from a private landowner as a wetland mitigation site for the I-5 widening project from Port of Tacoma Road to the King-Pierce county line. WSDOT is working with Friends of the Hylebos on plans to rehabilitate the creek and surrounding wetlands as salmon spawning habitat.

Federal Way Ex3 Teen Center
$300,000 for the EX3 Ron Sandwith Teen Center, the first permanent teen center in Federal Way, officially opened Sept. 17, 2005. The 16,000-square-foot facility houses a fitness center, art studio, gym, climbing wall, technology lab, music mixing lounge, learning center, café and video game lounge. The center will offer 13 programs designed to meet the needs of teens, including music and arts, leadership development and SAT preparation.
