I-5/52nd Ave W to SR 526 - Roadside
Safety and Ramp Improvements Upgrade the 44th Ave. W southbound onramp to meet current design standards. Upgrade illumination and guardrail in the 44th Ave. W interchange area. Install 1.88 miles of median cable barrier and 3.16 miles of median concrete barrier between 52nd Ave. W and 128th St. SW.
I-5/164th St SW to SR 526 - HOV and
Interchange Modifications This project continues the construction of HOV lanes in each direction of I-5 and will modify the 164th Street SW interchange ramp configuration. The HOV lanes will relieve congestion, increase capacity and mobility, and provide a travel time advantage for transit and HOV traffic. Eastbound and westbound left turns to the I-5 on ramps that are experiencing delays due to heavy traffic within the interchange will be replaced by loop ramps constructed in the northwest and southeast interchange quadrants. These ramps will eliminate left turns from 164th Street SW to the ramps. When completed, the 164th Street SW bridge over I-5 will be six lanes wide with a sidewalk on each side. This project also contributes $1.2 million to the South Everett Park and Ride Direct Access project.
I-5/124th St SW - Bicycle/Pedestrian
Overcrossing - Safety This project constructs a new bicycle/pedestrian bridge over I-5 at approximately 124th Street SW just north of the I-5/128th Street SW interchange to connect two sections of the Interurban Trail. The 305-foot long bridge will be 15 feet wide with a 13-foot wide pathway and bridge railing. The project also includes asphalt concrete pavement, grading, drainage, and landscaping work. When completed, the project will improve safety and operations at the 128th Street SW Interchange by providing safer, dedicated access for pedestrians and bicyclists crossing over I-5.
I-5/South Everett Freeway Station/112th
St SE - Transit Direct Access This project would add direct access connection between the inside I-5 HOV lanes and a new park and ride lot to be built in the median of I-5 (which is also part of this project.) There is some other work that the city of Everett is planning that could be added to this project at their expense. This work is the widening of 112th St. SE as part of the overall improvements to 112th St.

SR 527/164th St SE to 132nd St SE -
Widen to Five Lanes This section of SR 527 is an existing two lane roadway located in Snohomish County between 164th Street SE and 132nd Street SE. A major portion of the roadway is located within the city of Mill Creek. Considerable congestion is experienced throughout this section due to rapid commercial and residential development. To relieve congestion and increase capacity and mobility, SR 527 will be widened to five lanes with a bicycle lane in each direction. Work items include walls drainage, wetland mitigation, and traffic signal modifications. Construction will occur in three phases. Phase 1 will construct noise and retaining walls. Phase 2 will widen SR 527. Phase 3 will be a roadside revegetation project.
SR 527/132nd St SE to 112th St SE - Add
Lanes This project will construct one new lane in each direction with a two-way left-turn lane from 132nd SE to 112th SE to increase safety and reduce congestion. This is a partnership project with the City of Everett. The city has funded the design and right of way acquisition utilizing developer and TIB (Transportation Improvement Board) funds.
I-5/SR 526 to Marine View Drive - Add
HOV Lanes This section of I-5 experiences congestion and mobility problems due to high traffic volumes and is part of the Puget Sound Core HOV program. To relieve congestion, increase capacity and mobility, and provide a travel time advantage to transit and HOV traffic, this project will design and construct northbound and southbound HOV lanes on I-5 between SR 526 and US 2 in the city of Everett. Existing I-5 will be widened asymmetrically with both median and outside widening. The Broadway Interchange off-ramp will be moved to the right side to increase safety and reduce congestion. Up to 20 bridges will be widened. Design and construction of several noise walls and retaining walls and a full storm water system retrofit is anticipated. Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) monitoring equipment will be installed. Investigation of the Lowell Road slide area is included.
I-5/Everett Vicinity Bridges - Seismic Retrofit existing bridges to bring them up to current seismic standards and reduce the risk of catastrophic failure.

US 2/Campbell Hill Road I/C to SR 522 -
Roadside Safety Improvements This project will install guardrail and illumination, flatten slopes, and remove roadside obstructions at various locations throughout the project area. The second eastbound US 2 through lane will be extended west of the 179th Avenue SE signal, and the westbound right turn pocket at the fairgrounds parking lot will be lengthened. The signals within one half mile of one another will be interconnected to provide fewer interruptions in traffic flow.
